Frequently Asked Questions
Are Vampires Immortal?
No. Vampires do not live forever and are not immortal in any way. Nothing is due to many scientific facts I won't go into here. Of the many various type of vampires, the only ones who live forever that I have ever heard of are those of classic fiction. They will live forever in movies, books, and in our hearts, but not in real life. They are nothing more than the imagination of good writers and will forever stay that way.
I think I might be a Vampire but I'm not sure. How can I tell?
This is probably one of the most difficult questions I have ever been asked. The first thing you need to ask yourself is, "Why do I feel this way?" Most people who think they might be vampires sometimes are no more than fairly normal people with an over active imagination who are trying to find out who they really are. This is actually quite normal behavior. It happens to all humans--especially teens. Most are just trying to find out where they 'fit in'. The best thing you can do is surf the web and read the information on various sites (like this one) to determine for yourself if you are or aren't a vampire. No one can say you are or aren't (although there are a few who can sense vampires and they may be able to help you).
What exactly is a vampire?
To put it simply, a vampire is any person or being who/which for any reason consumes the blood, life-energies, or emotional energies of other living beings who may or may not themselves be vampires. There are many different types which generally fall into two categories; Sanguinarian and Psychic.
How do I become a Vampire?
Do you really want to? Why? To the best of my knowledge most vampires are born this way so unless you already are one, you won't every be one. I have yet to find a suitable answer for why some people are born with it. But remember, drinking blood and/or drawing in energy can be dangerous to your health. You can get sick from blood that came from someone who has AIDS or other diseases. You can get sick from bad energy as well. Not only that but some vampires actually have problems with Hunters. Do you want their problems?
What are Vampire Hunters?
There are many different groups of people, who for their own reasons, feel that all vampires are evil. Many try and seek out vampires of all sorts and kill them. Most of these people are sick and deluded but can sometimes be very dangerous none-the-less. They can even be very organized and systematic in their operations. Recently I have heard of Hunters who only seek out vampires as to warn others to stay away from the areas that these vampires associate themselves with. But there are those few who think that vampires are the spawn of Satan or some other junk and go out and try to harm them. Either way, if you think you're a vampire, then it's a good idea to stay away from these particular groups.
I'm a Vampire Slayer/Hunter and I'm going to get you!
Ah. Delusions are wondrous and dangerous. I can't tell you how many times I have heard that one. Though it has only been on the net. If you think you're a slayer or hunter then please, get help. Killing a vampire is no more righteous than killing anyone. Doing so will only cause pain and suffering of all in involved and send you to jail or worse. Let it go! BTW...most of these people are little more than Buffy fans wanting some excitement in their lives! Sad, I know but true.
I'm not a Vampire, but should I worry about those who are? Should I hunt them
As stated above, that's generally not a good idea. Most vampires I have met (both online and off) don't go out of their way to harm you.In fact, they usually tend to go out of their way not too. Most have found ways of feeding which cause no harm to most of the general population. If you don't like the idea of being associated with vampires then don't be. Simple as that. But, don't hunt them! It's not worth the pain you would be causing yourself!
Do Vampires Have to worry about disease inblood?
YES!!! Drinking the blood of anything can make anybody extremely ill or worse. Look at medical professionals. They take every precaution to protect themselves just from coming in contact with blood. Blood itself has more diseases than you probably know and being a vampire does NOT make one immune.
There is almost no disease or infection that can not be transmitted by blood. Some of these diseases are (HIV (AIDS), Herpes, Lassa Fever, Ebola, Human-Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (the human form of mad cow disease), Hepatitis, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and these are just a few of them!!
Don't forget about the risks to the donor! Willing or not! Chances are that most don't have enough medical knowledge to know which instruments to use. Or have access to them. Or how to sterilize and use them properly so to minimize the risks to the donor! And with biting them? Oh boy! Doctors will be the first and not the last to tell you that the human bite is nastier and more infectious than any other animal bite!
Most people don't know enough about anatomy to know which areas to avoid and where all the major arteries are! (Some of those areas are the neck, the groin, the inner thigh, the wrist, the upper inner arm, etc.) Cut into one of those and you are going to have a hell of a lot more blood than you expected. Not to mention a dead partner! I am talking about dead dead dead dead! There's no coming back from the grave here folks!
